THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE HEALING INJUSTICE A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!
From incredible plenary sessions to the Idea Exchange Breakout Sessions to remembering what it was like to be a child playing around in the New Children's Museum, Healing In/Justice created a rare and empowering space for human connection, imagination and community healing. Thank you for your vulnerability, participation and commitment to building a more healthy, inclusive and welcoming world for all of us. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with all of you for many years to come and are grateful for your work and partnership.
ABOUT HEALING IN/JUSTICE
Unlike traditional conferences, Healing In/Justice aims to inspire attendees to tap into their childlike wonder to imagine a new world together. The two-day experience will be highly interactive and create an empowering space for human connection, imagination and community healing. Healing In/Justice is a play on words - a rallying cry that speaks to the need for us to center self-care as we heal from injustice in a growing community of leaders and organizations on the frontlines of societal transformation.
Since our founding in 1992, The California Wellness Foundation has been committed to building a movement to prevent violence. In partnership with many of you, we have accomplished much, including building public awareness that violence is a public health issue, reducing gun violence in California by more than 50%, and creating effective community-led violence intervention models.
Together, we have shown that violence is not inevitable – it is preventable. We have done much, but more is needed. We must take our movement to the next level by stretching beyond our comfort zones to explore how we can better work together to create authentic partnerships and campaigns that will result in healthier and safer communities. As such, the purpose of Healing In/Justice is for attendees to take a journey where they will be inspired to tap into their childlike curiosity to re-image and re-create a world of healing, justice and love.

In May 2018, TODEC's Youth Groups launched the #LettersOfLoveToKids campaign to support children who have been separated from their families across the United States-Mexico border.
Although #LettersOfLoveToKids began as a localized campaign, it has now become a national initiative with over 10,000 letters being delivered to Immigrant Prisons in San Ysidro, California, Arizona and Brownsville, Texas. Given the overwhelming success of the campaign, the youth leaders from TODEC have stated that #LettersOfLoveToKids will continue until every child is reunited with their parents.
